Paramount Support Services (PSS) is a registered Specialised Substitute Residential Care (SSRC) which was formerly known as Voluntary Out of Home Care (VOOHC).
SSRC is an arrangement between a parent/guardian and an organization for their child, aged 7 to 17, to receive overnight care away from their usual home. It can be a one-off arrangement made in an emergency or involve frequent or long-term care (up to 90 days). This care is away from their usual home for 3 or more nights in any 7-day period. This service is for respite and short-term accommodation solutions or behaviour support.
PSS staff, know the value of respite and provide flexible supports that are planned and delivered with a family centred approach giving carers a well-earned break from the reality of their everyday life to take time for themselves. We take the time to get to know our clients and their families, get them involved in their child’s care process. This instils a sense of control, safety, and confidence. We address any concerns clients might have relating to their disabilities and future development. PSS is aware of the large sense of worry that caregivers have placing children and young people in Specialised Substitute Residential Care.
In some instances, parents and carers may feel out of depth not being able to help their children based on their specific needs.
